Welcome to Windpomp Padstal
Established in 2018, Windpomp Padstal underwent significant expansion and renovation in October 2022, tripling in size. Located on the farm Maseri Pan, the site has a rich history, dating back to the early 1900s when it served as a rest stop for transport ox wagons.
The Farm and Its Offerings
The construction of the N1 highway divided the farm, with the eastern section serving as hunting grounds and the western section dedicated to growing tomatoes, melons, and pumpkins. These fresh products are available for purchase at Windpomp, along with much more.
Quality Meats and Farm Products
Sarita proudly states, “We take pride in the game biltong, dry wors, and chili-bites that we produce from our own farm.
Our products taste better because we allow them to dry naturally in Musina’s dry heat.” Unlike competitors who use artificial methods, Windpomp offers fresh venison cuts and wors from a registered butchery, ensuring the highest quality.
Unique Handcrafted Items
Beyond typical pickles and jams, including special sweet green figs, Windpomp offers handmade leather products, African Arts, and Mopani wood lamps. “The sandblasted lampshades are in huge demand,” Sarita notes.
Serving a Diverse Clientele
Windpomp's clientele includes locals and truck drivers needing a break at Beit Bridge. The area is a renowned bushveld hunting destination with over three hundred lodges from Waterpoort to Alldays.
Foreign visitors often arrive via the farm's airstrip, and the farmstall caters to their tastes. The "Swallows," who escape cold Highveld winters, are another key demographic, integrating into the community and supporting local businesses.
An Oasis of Attractions
Sarita aims to make Windpomp an irresistible oasis, expanding the petting zoo to include miniature mountain goats, ponies, turkeys, chickens, bunnies, fish, and large bird cages.
Plans for a goat tower are underway to enhance this experience.
