Your Host

My wife and I decided to purchase the Thokazani Lodge in 2009 and to emigrate to South Africa to pursue our dreams.

In previous years, we explored Southern Africa extensively, by travelled through Namibia, Botswana and South Africa.

Through our experience with the cultures and the beauty of the Fauna and Flora we took the decision, to make South Africa our new home. We can now, enjoy the nature and wildlife at our doorstep close to the Kruger National Park.

Thokozani Lodge

The Thokozani Lodge was built in the typical African architectural design with thatch roof in 1926. The Jatinga street where the lodge is situated, was named after the English officer’s that settled down after finishing their service in India.

The lodge was built in a crescent shape and was known as the “halfmoon cottage”. Through the years numerous renovations was done, but the old charm has not been lost. All of the rooms and the stoep areas, are facing West, to assure a beautiful sunset.

The lodge consists of a lush garden with swimming pool which creates the perfect ambience for a relaxed atmosphere. From here, you can enjoy various daytrips and activities the Lowveld has to offer.

At Thokozani Lodge in White River, we are using a new PV system with solar pannels and battery storage system to avoid power loss during load shedding.

In a nutshell, home battery storage, or a solar battery, allows you to store electricity for use at a later time.

Thokozani Lodge is the perfect base for day trips to the renowned Kruger National Park and the scenic Panorama Route.

Having the world-famous Kruger National Park just a stone's throw away is indeed a privilege. It’s remarkable to witness the diverse African wildlife so nearby, and each season brings its own unique charm, showcasing both the grand and the tiny creatures, as well as the stunning landscapes within the park.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, embark on the Panorama Route to explore the highlights of God’s Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and the Three Rondavels, along with breathtaking views of the Blyde River Canyon

The largest green canyon in the world. You will also discover magnificent waterfalls such as Lisbon Falls, Lone Creek Falls, and Mac-Mac Falls.

We can arrange day tours to the Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, and other notable attractions.

For the thrill-seekers, there are plenty of adrenaline-pumping activities available, including bungee jumping, abseiling, white-water rafting, and quad biking. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, you can enjoy horseback riding, golf, and tennis.

Don’t miss the chance to visit a traditional village where ancient customs and cultures are cherished. Listen to fascinating tribal legends and learn about traditional African medicinal plants from a Sangoma.

En-suite (shower & toilet) featuring rustic handmade wooden furniture. Each room has two single beds, equipped with mosquito nets for a peaceful night's sleep.

Enjoy a lovely view of the garden, with bedding and towels provided. A separate entrance and complimentary coffee and tea buffet are also included.

Family Room

En-suite (shower & toilet) with rustic handmade wooden furniture, accommodating 1 double bed or 2 single beds plus 1 bunk bed. Equipped with mosquito nets for safety and comfort, it includes a separate entrance, a beautiful garden view, and a coffee and tea buffet, along with a barbecue, fridge, and microwave.

Bungalow

En-suite (shower & toilet) furnished with rustic handmade wooden furniture, featuring 1 double bed or 2 single beds plus 1 bunk bed. Each bungalow has mosquito nets for safety, a private terrace, air conditioning, barbecue facilities, and a fridge.

The bungalow also includes a coffee and tea buffet and outdoor self-catering amenities, such as an outdoor sink, double hot plate, toaster, cutlery, and crockery (not a fully equipped kitchenette).

Timber Hut

En-suite (shower & toilet) with rustic wooden furniture, accommodating 1 double bed. Equipped with mosquito nets for a safe night's sleep, this hut features a private terrace, air conditioning, barbecue facilities, and a fridge, along with a complimentary coffee and tea buffet.

Self-catering options include an outdoor sink, double hot plate, toaster, cutlery, and crockery (not a fully equipped kitchenette).
