Passion drives us at Mad Mahi Marine. Businessman and avid fishing enthusiast Gareth Decker’s love for the ocean started young, fishing with his dad and uncles in Kei Mouth. With over 40 years of skippering experience, Gareth brings intimate knowledge of the False Bay coastline and sea to every adventure. His dedication to sharing the ocean’s wonders blends with his expertise to make every trip memorable. Gareth’s wife, Jacqui Decker – an accomplished angler herself – joins in fostering unforgettable experiences, encouraging juniors and ladies in fishing, and holding records in her own right.

  • Luxury 34ft Magnum vessel: Ahi boasts 2 x 300 Horsepower engines, three plotters, sonars, Radar, AIS, VHS & KAVIcomm radios.
  • Comfort: Full cabin with lounge seating, protection from elements, toilet onboard, upstairs seating, outside deck area.
  • Departures: All cruises/charters leave Simon’s Town Marina, where Ahi is berthed.

  • Passengers: Suitable for 1 person, couple, or adult with child; up to 2 people (as per price given).

Ahi Offshore Tuna Fishing

  • Target: Yellow Fin Tuna, Long Fin Tuna, Blue Fin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Dorado, Yellowtail, Skip Jack Tuna, Marlin.
