Kazi Mingi Bush Camp Close to Modimolle (Nylstroom) The bush camp is situated on the farm Kazi Mingi, Geelhoutkloof, between Modimolle (Nylstroom) and Vaalwater in the beautiful Waterberg area. Under our shady bushveld trees one forgets about the bustling city.
Camping Area
The camping area is kept small to enhance privacy for those who want that. There are five camp sites, each with its own electrical point, braai area and bushveld trees for shade.
The central facilities include two neat and clean ablution areas, a kitchen, gathering area for meetings and games like darts, a lapa, a lapa kitchen, mini plunge pool and open air shower.
The facilities at Kazi Mingi also suit smaller groups (no more than 20 people) who wish to have the camp to themselves. The lapa (braai area) can accommodate up to 20 people who want to enjoy each other's company around the fire with the lapa-kitchen just next door to make the catering a breeze. During the day, one can cool off in the mini pool which is situated in a beautiful little garden, or make use of the "survivor shower"..
Camp in Private
Three of the campsites are a little distance from the central facilities for those who want to enjoy even more privacy.
Each of them has its own little lapa where you can braai and chat to your heart's content. The ablutions and kitchen areas are still within easy walking distance from these campsites.
Camp in Style
The other two campsites (our "prime spots") are right next to the central facilities on green lawn, with water, electricity, braai facilities and dust bins nearby.
The whole camp may be occupied by groups of up to 20 people.
CARAVANS - not recommended to use the gravel road.
You are requested not to leave DISCARDED CAMPING EQUIPMENT behind as we do not have a dumping site.
Only garbage bags are transported to Nylstroom to their dumping site.
Self Catering
There is a beautiful, well equipped self-catering bush chalet ("hartbeeshuisie") within walking distance from the camp sites. It has a double bed and an extra bed in the lounge area - ideal for familiy or friends who do not wish to camp.
A lookout tower that is ideal for watching the beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the mountains. The views from here are simply stunning. The ideal spot for a sundowner.
Bush Chalet
A bush chalet ("hartbeeshuisie"), hidden between large trees, is within walking distance from the camping area.
It is built of stone and offers very cosy accommodation for people do not wish to camp. It has a tin roof and a ceiling of reeds.
It is built on a hillock with a view of the blue Waterberg and offers one bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.
It also has a living room with a fireplace for winter, a kitchen corner, fridge, microwave oven and an extra bed.
A fourth person can, in need, be accommodated on a separate mattress on the floor. The chalet is fully equipped (except for bath towels).
The veld garden features a small lapa and a place with a view from underneath an umbrella.
The Facilities at Kazi Mingi
Ablution Facilities
There are two small ablution blocks. One has a separate toilet and shower with lots of room for hanging your clothes, sitting and dressing. The other block offers two separate units, one for ladies and one for men, each with its own washbasin, shower and toilet. The facilities are clean and well looked after.
Kitchen
The kitchen has washing-up basins and a chest freezer. There is also a kitchen facility next to the lapa for the use of visitors to the lapa.
Lapa
The lapa has space for 20 people socializing around the fire.
Mini Splash Pool
The mini pool is suitable for cooling off during hot days, it reminds one of a bushveld jacuzzi without the bubbles.
A swing and a trampoline are available for children.
Open Air Shower
The open air "survivor" shower is very popular during hot days when people can take a shower - sometimes with clothes on in order to stay cool for longer periods.
Look Out Deck
The lookout tower offers the opportunity to view some of the Bushveld's best sunsets as well as sunrises and beautiful views all around during the day. This is also the place where you go to try for cellphone contact.
Meeting Area
This small meeting area also doubles for playing darts or other games. There is a white wall for overhead projectors and braai facilities.
Walks in the Veld
Bordering our farm are two game farms. If you are (very) lucky, you may spot some game whilst on a walk on our farm. Game drives may be arranged with our neighbours.
