Welcome To Highlands Corner

 

Highlands Corner is a pet friendly (Fully Fenced) spacious self-catering chalet in the Highlands Meander area in Mpumalanga that forms part of the Privately owned Highland Springs Country Estate. 

The chalet accommodates 7 guests in 3 separate bedrooms with lovely views of the big dam and Highveld countryside. 

The Estate is +- 7km from the Dullstroom/Emakhazeni N4 offramp., of which 5 km is a dirt road. 

The road is in general well-kept and does not require a 4x4 vehicle, although higher ground clearance on a vehicle is advisable. 

The main bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and fireplace. 

The second two sleeper bedroom is furnished with twin beds and the third bedroom with 3 single beds. 

There are 2 bathrooms, one with bath/shower combination, toilet and basin and the second with shower, basin and separate toilet. 

The open-plan lounge/kitchen area walks into the braai area and caters for a build in braai/fireplace. 

The chalet caters for a fully equipped kitchen with gas/electric stove and electric oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and cooking utensils. 

Braai tongs, dish cloth, cleaning cloth, sponge and dishwashing liquid are provided. 

The stoop area allows guests to enjoy and have fun with a game table, beverages from the 0% Alcohol honesty bar and comfortable benches to read a book, have a drink and relax. 

Highlands Corner is a single private unit with a well fenced-in garden, with a diamond mesh and clear view fence of an average height of 1.2 meters so pets are more than welcome. 

We offer doggy furniture covers so please use these to protect our bedding and couches. 

A poop scoop is available with a plastic bag. 

Undercover parking for 2 cars is accommodated for within the chalet yard. 

Firewood not braaiwood is supplied for both fireplaces, on the stoop as well as main bedroom with fire lighters & matches for the first night accommodation. 

Additional firewood can be arranged from the second night at R70 per 30 to 35 kg bag and is payable before checking out. 

A restaurant quality frozen ready-made meals menu is provided with your booking from which you can order delicious, scrumptious meals. 

Linen and towels (inc. a complimentary small soap per guest) are provided as well as warm blankets and extra pillows. 

We also supply hand soap and toilet paper in each bathroom. 

Cell phone reception may be intermittent at times, but good in general. 

NOTE Highlands Corner is smoke free, ash trays are provided on the stoop to ensure smoking only takes place outside of the chalet. 

Guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, picnic / sundowners by the main dam, a short distance walk from the chalet, and birding. 

The town Belfast is 10 km away or Dullstroom only a mere 30 km away. 

We have 3 dams on the estate, which are currently being rehabilitated and offers bass fishing. 

Our tap water is safe to drink, pumped directly from naturally filtered underground spring water. 

Try out the ice cubes available in your freezer. Loadshedding friendly light bulbs in the chalet will be pre-charged before your arrival in case of loadshedding, and we also supply rechargeable LED lamps. 

Complimentary in our kitchen is Nescafe coffee, sugar, sweetener, tea. We are looking forward to hosting you and trust you will relax and enjoy your stay

 

2024 Rates 

 

The chalet can accommodate for 7 adults.

Weekend Rates 

(Friday and Saturday nights) – minimum of 2 night's stay:

  • R 1,100 per night for 1 adult
  • R 1,300 per night for 2 adults
  • R 1,950 per night for 3 adults
  • R 2,600 per night for 4 adults
  • R 2,950 per night for 5 adults
  • R 3,300 per night for 6 adults
  • R3,650 per night for 7 adults


Mid-week Rates 

(Sunday night to Thursday night) – minimum of 1 night stay:

  • R 1,100 per night for 1 adult
  • R 1,100 per night for 2 adults
  • R 1,650 per night for 3 adults
  • R 2,200 per night for 4 adults
  • R 2,550 per night for 5 adults
  • R 2,900 per night for 6 adults
  • R3,250 per night for 7 adults

 

The above-mentioned rates do not include long weekends, public holidays or December holidays.

  • Kids (Age 0 – 2) Stay for free
  • Kids (Age 2– 12) R335 per night for 1 kid
  • Dogs (Maximum of 4 Small to Medium sized dogs, stay for free)
  • Pensioners R450 per night for 1 adult

 

Optional Extras: 

 Restaurant Quality Frozen Ready-Made Meals are available as per list provided separately and may be requested as part of the Quote / Invoice and paid for upfront. 

 The Chalet has a 0% Alcohol Honesty Bar / Display Fridge in the enclosed stoop area, prices and stock indicated as part of the Ready-Made Meals Menu. 

 Content taken from the Honesty Bar / Display Fridge needs to be noted as part of the Invoice Booklet provided and paid for via Electronic Fund Transfer before departure. 

 Free Firewood not Braaiwood is provided for both the fireplaces, one on the stoop and the other in the main bedroom for the first night. 

 Additional Firewood from the second night can be arranged at R70 per 30 to35 kg bag. 

 Sekelbos Braaiwood is optional and can be arranged at R35 per 8 to 10 kg bag. 

 Servicing of Chalet available, including cleaning of fireplaces, making of beds, tidying up and cleaning of dishes available upon prearrangement min. R100 per service. 

Booking cancelation policy  

 1.  Instead of cancelling your booking, you may postpone it to a future date within 6 months.

 2. Cancellation of bookings more than 1 month before check-in, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

 3. Cancellation of bookings more than 2 weeks before check-in, 25% of the deposit will be refunded. 

4. Cancellation of bookings less than 2 weeks before check-in, 0% of the deposit will be refunded. 

Estate Main Rules 

1. No load music. 

2. Max speed 25 km/h. 

3. No littering. 

4. No open Fires.

5. Stay on farm roads. 

6. No discharging of Firearms.

Disclaimer Notice 

All visitors from Highlands Springs Country Estate enter the estate at their own risk. 

The trustees and members of the Body Corporate will not accept liability for any loss arising out of the death of injury or any person or damage to property from any cause whatsoever. 

This property is a residential and a working farm. 

Farm animals and farm equipment can be dangerous. 

Visitors should also beware of poisonous snakes and all wildlife. 

Pet-Friendly Accommodation Rules 

1. Your dog may be off leash inside your Chalet fenced area. 

2. Dogs may NOT be left unattended in the Chalet – NO EXCEPTION. Please lock the Chalet and leave them outside when you are not there.You will be responsible for any damage caused by them. 

3. You may walk your dogs on Estate grounds; however

DOGS TO BE ON-LEASH ON THE ESTATE GROUNDS – DOGS OFF-LEASH ARE TO THE RISK OF GUESTS. 

4. Please ensure you have treated your dogs for fleas and ensure your pets vaccinations are up to date before you bring them to Highlands Corner. 

5. Couches are provided with extra blankets and throws to avoid muddy and dirty adventurous paws to soil furniture and will guarantee fresh and clean furniture for your next stay. 

Generally, it is discouraged for your pets to share furniture without ensuring it is protected.

 Please always keep blankets and throws on and provide your pets own bedding, blankets, and water bowls. 

You will be responsible for any additional cleaning costs should we have to clean the furniture and bedding due to their mess. 

6. We ask all owners to make sure that they clean up after their doggies. 

There is a poop scoop under the carport. 

7. BEWARE of poisonous snakes, poisonous snakes occasionally occur on the Highveld; such as Rinkhals, and therefore it is crucial to control your dogs on a leash outside the fenced area or confine them, to keep them safe. 

8. You bring your dogs at your own risk. Highlands Springs Country Estate is not responsible for any parasites or illnesses your pet may pick up, or any injuries they may get, while on our property.
