Our Story

In 2025, we took a leap of faith and moved from the Netherlands to Pretoria to turn a dream into reality — creating a guesthouse where people from all walks of life could experience warmth, comfort, and authentic hospitality.

We are Klaas-Jan and Anneke van Kalkeren, your hosts and directors of Guesthouse Charis. This beautiful property is not only our business; it is our home. Together with our dedicated team, including Sandisiwe, our housekeeper, and Koos, our gardener, we work with passion and care to ensure that every stay is memorable.

Our goal is simple: to welcome guests not as visitors, but as part of the Guesthouse Charis story.
