Emerald Cottage is a charming self-catering accommodation facility, ideally located in Cannonville, a peaceful and secure village along the stunning Sundays River. It's just 35 km east of Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay, right off the N2 in the Greater Addo region.

Situated a mere 3 km from the new South Gate entrance, also known as Camp Matyholweni, to the Addo Elephant National Park, and just a short stroll to the Sundays River, this cottage offers an unparalleled experience.
You’ll never be closer to the majestic elephants of the Addo Elephant National Park than when you stay at this hidden gem, Emerald Cottage.
Since the park's expansion in 2010 and the opening of the Addo South Gate near Colchester along the National Freeway N2, herds of elephants and various wildlife have migrated to the southern section of the park, making it a prime location for visitors.
Emerald Cottage is perfectly situated, providing easy access to all major game reserves in the Eastern Cape.

Our Journey to Cannonville
Maggie and I (Les) relocated to Cannonville in January 2006, and we are thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem along the golden banks of the Sundays River.
With a dream realized, I dedicated myself to establishing a ferry service on the river. On April 14, 2007, THE SUNDAYS RIVER FERRY, now known as ADDO CRUISES AND SAND SLEDDING, was officially launched.
Join us for a relaxing cruise either upstream or downstream to the river mouth.

Accommodation at Emerald Cottage
We offer Self-catering accommodation in a fully equipped 2 bedroomed cottage.
We can supply muesli, yoghurt and a croissant at an additional cost per person per day.
Coffee, tea, rusks and welcoming basket with water supplied on arrival.
Emerald Self Catering Air- Condition Cottage
The Self-Catering Cottage offers a comfortable and cozy retreat.
- Features a lounge/dining area and a fully equipped kitchenette
- Includes an undercover braai/BBQ area on the stoep/verandah

The verandah/BBQ area provides a lovely space to unwind, with easy access between the rooms. This cottage is a convenient and comfortable choice, perfect for family visits.

The main bedroom/family room features queen bed plus single bed (with pull out for extra single) with lovely big bathroom/shower en suite.
