WELCOME TO CONNEMARA TROUT LODGE

A Nature Lover's Paradise!

This 168-hectare Trout Farm, featuring five substantial dams and two weirs, is nestled in a beautiful, secluded valley just 15 km from Dullstroom and 38 km from Lydenburg along the R540.

It offers complete privacy and access via a paved road that leads directly to the self-catering guest house, making it perfect for low-clearance vehicles.

Lodge

Experience comfort in our well-equipped self-catering house, which includes three en-suite bedrooms:

Two rooms with ¾ beds and pull-out sleeper couches
One room with a king-size bed and a pull-out sleeper couch
One room with two single beds

Sleeping Capacity: Accommodates 6 adults and 4 children, with an additional single bed available in the bar area for an extra person.

Enjoy the cozy atmosphere with two indoor fireplaces, complete with complimentary wood to get you started, with more available for a nominal fee.

While DSTV is provided in the main lounge, we encourage you to take in the breathtaking views of the dams and valley from the stunning patio area.

The fully equipped kitchen includes:

Gas/electric stove/oven
Fridge/freezer
Microwave
Dishwasher
Additionally, there is an outdoor freestanding barrel gas braai and wood braai facility.

Ouma-se-Huisie

This charming and cozy cottage accommodates either 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults, featuring two bedrooms with queen-size beds that share a small shower, basin, and toilet.

The self-catering kitchenette is equipped with:

Mini fridge/freezer
Convection microwave
2-plate gas cooker with a built-in braai on a covered patio overlooking the farm
"Start-up" wood is provided, with additional wood available for a small fee. The unit is wheelchair accessible to the bedroom, bathroom, and patio area.

Fishing

Enjoy fly-fishing for Rainbow and Brown Trout, available at a daily charge per rod, with pricing based on Kg weight. Our fishing policy is "Catch and Keep."

Five still water dams and two weirs are conveniently located within walking distance from the Homestead.
Remember to keep your catch and pay the per-kilogram weight fee.
Enjoy beautiful picnic spots or simply take in the breathtaking sunsets!

HIKING:

Existing dirt roads and trails provide mountain bikers and hikers with the opportunity to explore every inch of the property.

As you venture through, keep an eye out for diverse wildlife and plant species; sightings of Brown Hyena, Mountain Reedbuck, Serval, Caracal, Duiker, and Porcupine have all been reported on the premises.
