Welcome to Candy's Lodge
Candy's Lodge is located on the banks of the Vaal River within the little village of Vaaloewer.
We offer a secure and tranquil getaway halfway between the towns of Vanderbijlpark and Parys.
We are however, close enough to all the action! A super friendly and secure venue where everyone meets to watch the spectacular sunsets on the banks of the river, whilst sipping cocktails.
Our upstairs pub has a fireplace for the cool winter nights, five TV sets and a pool table for a bit of friendly rivalry.
We have a restaurant on the premises with an a la carte menu at very reasonable prices.
Both the pub and restaurant are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except for public holidays.
We also have a cruiser for those wishing to experience the tranquility of our village from another angle.
For guests staying over, we have 1km of water frontage for fishing, picnics, walks, etc.
We look forward to having you as our guests in "Paradise" on the Vaal River.
Candy’s Lodge Accommodation
Stay over in our comfortable accommodation and let the atmosphere relax you to the point that you will feel you've had a long and restful vacation!
We have different types of accommodation to suit you.
Accommodation at Candy's Lodge is provided in 4 different types to suit all guests needs.
The lodge has 2-, 4- and 6-sleeper units, and can offer a 10-sleeper unit with an interleading door.
The units present either basic self-catering facilities or full self-catering facilities.
No TV’s are available in the units.
Unfortunately Candy’s Lodge is not wheelchair friendly.
Candy’s Pub & Grub
Just 100m from the river, Candy's Pub makes you feel like you are in a cozy old English pub.
In winter, join us for the evening, where you can sip sherry by the fireplace after a delicious meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We pride ourselves in making you feel at home. Here, in the various pub areas, you can watch your favourite sports team on one of our television screens.
For the smokers, we have an outdoor beer garden where you can keep an eye on your kids and still watch the game on our outside television.
Why not try one of "The best homemade Burgers in the world", or a juicy fillet steak – check out our menu page! I'm sure you'll love the winter specials.
You could also have your meal on the balcony overlooking the Vaal River and enjoy our amazing sunsets.
If you're lucky you might see animals on the game farm across the water.

Candy’s Wharf Pub
There is no place on Earth as chilled as the Wharf Pub, where our motto is, “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem”.
Jutting out over the water, the wharf is a favorite place for all to meet and enjoy the spectacular sunsets, whilst watching the resident birds fly in and out of their nest in our thatched roof - or - see the game grazing across the river.

Please note that while guests staying over have plenty of areas for picnicking, the Wharf Pub is not one of them as it is a licensed premises.

Silver Fox Booze Boat @ Candy's
If you enjoy the call of the wild, take a long, leisurely cruise on a Booze Boat!
The bird life is outstanding (over 150 species), and a variety of wildlife can been seen on the riverbank on the Free State side, where there is a game farm.
Rates available upon request.
The smallest booking is 12 people, and largest is 26.
Bookings are essential in order to prepare the boat - and sober up the crew!
All refreshments must be purchased from the pub. In the Winter Season the last booking time available is 3pm
