CAMPISMO DA CUNA is approximately 30 Km from the nearest town MANHICA and it takes around 1 hour, as 4 wheel drive is required most of the way.   It is recommended to refuel and buy last minute necessities as there are no more shops on route.   The locals are well known for their delicious bread namely PAO!   They drink the water which is obtained from a fresh water lake 5 Km from the camp, but it is recommended to pre-boil the water before consumption.   Guests are allowed to fish and swim in the lake as well, but no motorized boats are allowed.   Getting to know the culture of the locals is also interesting, they rely on a constant supply of fish and also harvest maize, beans, rice, cashew nuts, onions, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and tobacco.  Goats and cattle are also seen among the vast sugar cane farms known to the area.
