A Family Dream Built on Passion
The story of Aloegrove began in 1993 when the Döman family discovered this remarkable mountain landscape and immediately fell in love with its untouched beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Inspired by the breathtaking surroundings,
Des and Erika Döman, together with Johan and Ivy Döman, envisioned creating a lodge where guests could experience the magic of Namibia while enjoying comfort, privacy, and genuine hospitality.
Years of dedication, hard work, and passion slowly transformed that dream into reality, and in 2000 Aloegrove Safari Lodge officially opened its doors.
Today, the lodge continues to be family-owned and personally managed by Johan, Ivy, CP, and Lize Döman, ensuring every guest experiences the warmth and care that have become part of the Aloegrove identity.
