Welcome To 31 on Witzenberg 

Nestled in the countryside with breathtaking views of the mountains, is 31 on Witzenberg.

This charming house with it's own private splash pool, is located on a game farm just outside Tulbagh and offers a tranquil stay to visitors.

This beautiful self-catering house can accommodate 4 guests at a time and comprises 2 tastefully furnished bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room area.

The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet.

The second bedroom has 2 three quarter beds and makes use of the next-door guests’ bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet.

Linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas hob, microwave, air fryer, basic cutlery, and crockery, as well as a coffee machine.

It expands to the lounge area furnished with comfy couches, a dining table, and a cosy fireplace.

The lounge walks out to the lovely patio, a braai area, a splash pool, outdoor seating space and beautiful views.

Here, guests can enjoy a lovely morning cup of coffee in a serene setting.

There are various activities for guests to partake in on the premises which include, walking trails, mountain biking trails, and a communal swimming pool and guests can enjoy the sights of the zebra and springbok on their doorstep. Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises.

General

• 31 On Witz will supply 2 bags of wood + 2 fire lighters for free. 
• Tea/Coffee/Sugar/Long life milk – are provided. 
• There is a tourist map for your convenience, which will indicate all restaurants, wine farms, historic buildings etc. on the table in the cottage. 
• There is an outside cold shower for a cool down on a hot day. 
• There is an outside barbeque/fireplace. 
• There is under roof parking. 
• There is a list with emergency numbers stuck to the fridge. 
• WiFi Network; Human 1 WiFi. 
• WiFi Password is “Passw0rd (capital P and the o in word becomes a 0-zero). 
• TV has a MiBox to be used by your own Apps. 
• The cottage (31 on Witz) is located of the Boontjiesrivier road which turns of the R46 which is the main road between Tulbagh and Ceres in the Western Cape. 
• The cottage has its own private little splash pool. 
• Please bring your own swimming towels. 
  We have also installed a 3KW solar system which will automatically switch on during load shedding. (Only for basic use like lights, TV, internet, fans and fridge).

Rules

• Please read the cottage and Park rules pamphlet, which is on display in the cottage, very carefully and please adhere to it with the best of your ability. 
• Negligence will affect everybody and our fauna and flora around you.
• Fire protocol must be strictly adhered to at all times. Braai fires must be put out please before you settle for the night.
• No loud music is permitted. 
• Pets must be kept within the cottage’s fenced area at all times. 
• When you take your pets for a walk, they must be on a leash please.
• No pets are allowed on any furniture.
• There is also a doggie poop scoop for your convenience.
• Please take note that the cottage is located on a game farm where the animals walk around freely. 
• When you enter the park, it is at your own risk.
• No smoking or vaping in the cottage please.

Directions

• We advise that you Google Maps “Fynbos Café and Farmstall on the R46” and follow the directions below from there. 
• Please do not follow any pin or directions that is given to you by your booking agent. 
  Take the Boontjiesrivier turnoff (gravel road – 500 meters pass the Fynbos Cafe) to your left coming from Tulbagh direction on the R46 or turn right 500m before the Fynbos Cafe coming from Ceres/Wolseley.
• Approximately 2,5km on the Boontjiesrivier road you will get a couple of signs (ex Witzenberg Guest Farm, Steenbokkie Cottage, Noah’s Farm Campsites and 31 on Witzenberg etc.). Turn left and continue to “Gate 2” which is about 150m from where you have turned left out of the Boontjiesriver road.
• You will enter the park through Gate 2.
• Just below the “31 On Witzenberg” sign at Gate 2, is a red key drop-box where you will collect the keys for the cottage. 
• The code to open the drop-box is 5070.
• Please close the box. 
• The code for the gate is 159357.
• We will also supply you with a remote for the gate – red button.
• The gate will open automatically whenever you exit the gate from within the Park.
• Please take note that during load shedding there is normally a delay of about 15 sec before the gate will open.
• Once through the gate take the 1st road to the right.
• Go up the incline and turn left at the “31 on Witzenberg” sign. Follow the 2-spoor concrete road to the game fence (400m).
• At the fence keep left.
• Follow the road along the game fence until you get the 31 on Witzenberg sign again (700m).
• Turn left and 31 On Witzenberg is in front of you.
• Please leave the keys in the red drop box at Gate 2 when you check out.
• Please scramble the 2nd and 4th digits on the digit dail on the drop-box after you have placed the keys back in the box. 
  We prefer to book new quests in personally and therefor ask that you please phone us 15 minutes before your arrival.
• We will meet you at Gate 2 and escort you to the cottage.
  Please take great care when you are driving the roads in the Park.
• Although the roads are accessible for city cars – slow driving is essential to navigate bumps and to look out for our little ground animals – lots of tortoises.
• Also be on the lookout for Zebra, Hartebees, blesbuck and Springbuck along your drive to the cottage.

Check-Out

• The check out time is strictly 10am on the day of departure. We kindly request that you respect this time as we need to prepare the cottage for our following guests. 
• Please lock the cottage on departure and leave the key in the red drop-box at Gate 2. 
• Please close the garden gate on departure.
